It's a New Year! Time to see my first
post!
The theme for January's Birchbox this year is "Let's Do This!" This month was all about New Years resolutions and revisions to your beauty routine.

In addition to sample choice this month, Birchbox had not one, but two curated boxes you could select from. One was centered around the gym, and the one I selected was titled "Relax & Recharge"
There were 6 samples in this box, 7 if you count both tea bags, so be ready for a longer post!

Relax & Recharge
1. Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream | $38
I am on the fence with this eye cream. Normally I use Origins Eye Doctor and I have no complaints. So far, this cream is doing just as good of a job. I have only used this for a few nights, so I can't really go into a full review on it's effectiveness. If it continues to perform, I may finish off my Eye Doctor and start using this instead. If I do make the switch, I will let you all know.

2. Briogeo Don't Despair! Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask | $26
This is a repeat sample for me, but considering how much I love this hair mask I wasn't disappointed. As I have short hair, my first sample still has some left in it. With this second sample I will not have to purchase the full size for awhile. My hair feels and looks incredible after I use this mask and it's effects last for quite awhile after use. In addition, it is a more natural product than most hair masks out there, which is a plus. I like to alternate this hair mask with ROOTS from LUSH so my hair doesn't get used to one thing and render the product ineffective, because let's be honest, it happens.

3. Manna Kadar Lip Locked in All of Me | $24
Love and hate relationship doesn't even begin to describe this product. I love the shade, I love how it makes my lips look amazing and full, and how long it lasts.
I hate, h.a.t.e. the taste, ingredients, and the slight burning I feel when I take it off.
If I have no adverse reactions after a few more uses I will use the entire sample, but I will not be purchasing the full size.

4.Perlier Intensive Nurturing Body Balm in Shea Lavender | $28.45
Luxe...pure and simple. This thick velvety cream works just as well as my Honest Co. Healing Balm. It smells better as well, at least if you like lavender, which I do. I will use the entire sample and be happy to do so but I will be sticking with my Healing Balm. For starters there are a few ingredients in this I don't like to have in my products. If you're in a rush and don't rub it in, you can expect to be greasy. This product is also more than 2x the cost of the Healing Balm. It may smell better, but smell alone is not worth it to me.

5. When Travelmate Sheet Mask | Set of 4 $28
If you follow us on Instagram you've probably seen the ridiculous photo of me using this mask. Normally I stick with LUSH Fresh Face Masks, but these masks just might find their way into my routine. For the 30 minutes I wore the mask I could feel it calming my skin. Once I removed it and massaged the remaining serum in there was a HUGE difference. My skin was soft, smooth, and my *ahem* fine lines were reduced. I will note that I used Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser before I applied this mask. I did not apply anything else to my face after I used the mask, and 24 hours later I can still feel and see a difference.
6. Teapigs Tea Temples | $10
It's a fact...I love tea. I almost love tea as much as I love coffee. While I'm not a coffee snob, I am a tea snob, and proud of it. These teas are at a high price point (15 bags for $10) but I think they're worth every penny. My favorite is the Liquorice & Peppermint and I can say with certainty if Birchbox doesn't have them back in stock soon I'll be tracking them down elsewhere. Yes, it's that good.
~
That's it for my Birchbox this month. Thank you for taking the time to read my longer than normal review.
Keep your eyes out for my review on the Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Birchbox.
