Ashleigh's MakeOUT 2015 Promise

Recently I've been thinking a lot about my makeup collection and how much it has grown in the past few years. Even though I really enjoy makeup and trying new things, it's gotten to the point where I feel anxious about it. When a new collection comes out, or a brand releases something limited, I feel like I HAVE to have it. Just as I've bought one thing I'm really excited about, something else comes out and I don't get to enjoy that new product because I'm already thinking about the next thing I want to buy. After watching Dani from CoffeeBreakWithDani and Christine from PinkSoFoxy declutter videos, as well as Christine's Makeout 2013 videos, I've decided to participate in a low-buy promise for 2015.

As of today, January 11^th 2015 to December 31^st 2015, I am participating in MakeOUT 2015.

I will allow myself a total of 15 makeup purchases during this period. Items included in this category are: all colored makeup products, (eyeshadow, lip products, nail polish etc.) foundations, concealers, powders, primers, eyeliners, mascara, and makeup brushes/tools.

If I run out of a product that I have nothing else of in that category, I can purchase that item without it counting toward my item count. These items should be items that are staples in my daily routine. Things like face wash, moisturizer, etc.

In addition to not buying more than 15 makeup items, I'm not allowing myself to buy ANY hair tools such as curling irons, curling wands, rollers, or straighteners. I have more of these than any one person needs and it's a problem.

I have already completed a preliminary declutter to weed out items that I can say with certainty I do not use.

I will be doing quarterly updates to keep you all updated on my progress and to keep myself in check as well. Before my next update in April I'm also going to declutter my hair products and nail polishes.

Wish me luck... I've already been tempted today, damn you Sephora and Hourglass....
