Top Two Tuesday - Cream Shadows

Another week another edition of.....

This week we're going over my top two cream shadows! To be completely honest, I am so picky about cream shadows that I actually only ever buy two types. That makes this a super easy post.

Let's get down to it shall we?

MAC Prolongwear Paint Pot - $21 from MAC Cosmetics

These shadows are great! They blend like a dream and last all day. The color range is a little on the muted side so not perfect if you want a more vibrant color base. I really love Painterly. I use it as my base every time I do my makeup. Pair it with the Urban Decay Primer Potion and it does not move!

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoos - $6.99 from Ulta
If the paint pots are great, these are FANTASIC! For starters the price point is much more affordable. The color range is more diverse, ranging from the same muted colors all the way to more vibrant colors. The staying power is just as good as well. While I love the paint pots, I own more of these shadows. The only thing I haven't found in their collection is a dupe for Painterly as everything has just a little too much sparkle. Other then that these are definitely my favorite of the two!
Check in next week when we'll check out my top two favorite eyeshadow singles!

Birchbox Limited Edition Home Sweet Homespun Review

Hello Everyone!

As you all know I am madly in love with Birchbox. The products they offer, their blog, and my monthly sample box all put a smile on my face. You can find out more information and join to get your own monthly sample box for only $10 a month by going here.

Every so often and during the holidays Birchbox creates Limited Edition boxes with full sized products and deluxe samples that you can purchase at an amazing discount. Normally I pass, but when they came out with their Home Sweet Homespun box I couldn't resist!

Note: For February, Birchbox is offering this Limited Edition box as a Birchbox Plus option! Not only that, but it's at a reduced price of only $29! I've added one as my Birchbox Plus option and I think you should too!

Let's take a closer look at this Limited Edition box, and why I think everyone should get one before they sell out!

January 2015 Birchbox Review

It's a New Year! Time to see my first

post!

The theme for January's Birchbox this year is "Let's Do This!" This month was all about New Years resolutions and revisions to your beauty routine.

My New Years resolution? Be more active here on the blog and review every Birchbox I get this year.

In addition to sample choice this month, Birchbox had not one, but two curated boxes you could select from. One was centered around the gym, and the one I selected was titled "Relax & Recharge"

There were 6 samples in this box, 7 if you count both tea bags, so be ready for a longer post!

Top Two Tuesday - Eye Primers

Another week, another....

This week we're going to be going over eyeshadow primers, but we're going to be doing things a little different today. I only use one eyeshadow primer. Yeah really, I have a couple deluxe sample sizes of other primers but I have one that I use pretty much everytime. So since this is Top TWO Tuesday, and I only have one top product, Amanda is going to be joining us with her top eyeshadow primer. Check out below!

Top Two Tuesday - Brow Products

Welcome to Top Two Tuesday, the brow product edition! For those of you who don't know, (or might have forgotten because it's been so long since I posted!) Top Two Tuesdays is my series where I go through almost every type of product you can think of and let you know my top two products in that category and why. I try, and usually fail, to pick one high end and one drugstore product, but I won't lie about a favorite just to make that happen.

So, I actually don't have a lot of brow products in my collection. I was blessed with very full brows and I've never really been into the super thin brows so I've never over plucked them to the point where I absolutely need brow products to compensate. While I love the super defined brow look in theory, I find that it doesn't really flatter my face at all. So my favorite brow products are things that really keep that natural look about my brows, but still help them look neat and tidy.

Ashleigh's MakeOUT 2015 Promise

Recently I've been thinking a lot about my makeup collection and how much it has grown in the past few years. Even though I really enjoy makeup and trying new things, it's gotten to the point where I feel anxious about it. When a new collection comes out, or a brand releases something limited, I feel like I HAVE to have it. Just as I've bought one thing I'm really excited about, something else comes out and I don't get to enjoy that new product because I'm already thinking about the next thing I want to buy. After watching Dani from CoffeeBreakWithDani and Christine from PinkSoFoxy declutter videos, as well as Christine's Makeout 2013 videos, I've decided to participate in a low-buy promise for 2015.

We're Sorry!

Okay, it's basically official. Amanda and I suck at keeping up with the blog. Life gets in the way, we get distracted, weather takes out the internet, it's just bad.

My (late) New Year's Resolution is to be better at this blog. I really enjoy keeping up with is and posting and sharing but sometimes I just let myself procrastinate so much that I wind up resenting getting posts ready right at the 11th hour. So I'm going to be better about planning ahead and committing to the blog.

I'm going to continue to do Top Two Tuesdays and then one extra post a week.

Stay tuned in for Amanda's plans!
