Top Two Tuesday - Foundations

Welcome back to....

Non-matte foundations!

As said in my last post this will be my favorite foundations that are not matte. I know there are several different foundation finishes besides matte, but I don't have enough favorites to validate individual posts.

So here we go!

1. Sephora Instant Radiance Foundation - Discontinued

Yes, yes I know. Why would you talk about a foundation that is discontinued? Why would you make me want something you know I can't get? WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ARE YOU?!

A junkie... I'm a junkie for this foundation. I first fell in love with this from a sample I got from I THINK a magazine. This foundation makes me glow. Not shimmer, glow from the inside. I feel like my skin looks healthy and yes, radiant when I wear this foundation. It has medium coverage that really builds beautifully on itself, but that's not the way I usually use it.

With my oily skin this product can sometimes break down on me, so I almost never use it on it's own unless I'm only looking for a couple hours of wear out of it. 95% of the time I will wear this over a matte foundation with medium coverage. I'll put a little on the back of my hand and use a Beauty Blender to stipple this over top. Beautiful glow, great coverage and it doesn't break down nearly as easy.

Now, because of the way I use this foundation it lasts forever. When I found out it was being discontinued I bought two backups on Ebay. You can still find it on Ebay, as well as Amazon. When you're trying to figure out what shade you are I've found that all of the shades are the same as the Sephora 10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation, which by the way is a great matte version of this foundation, but I don't love it quite as much.

2. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation  - $48 at sephora.com

Skin. That's the key word here. This foundation just looks like skin. I never see this on my skin, it doesn't look cakey or powdery or just ick. Coverage is very buildable again without looking caked on. It sticks around enough to get me through a day at work without any problems so long as I use a good primer underneath. After about 7 - 8 hours I want to touch up with a little on a Beauty Blender, but can usually get away with using some of the Mally Poreless Face Defender to get me through a couple more hours. Want to fake a "no makeup" look? This is the foundation you want. Clean beautiful skin.

Check in next time for my favorite BB Creams! Also I'm looking to do a post this week about my favorite makeup tools!
