Frantic Friday - Take 2 of the 10 Minute Face

Talk about a crazy week! Between family visiting, lambs being born, and work at the dance studio I'm not sure frantic is a strong enough word. Regardless, welcome back to

As promised this is another version of the 10 minute face. This version is for when you want more coverage and for those who just can't say no to eyeliner. I admit when I'm short on time, this is the version of the 10 minute face I go for.

Shall we get started?
I promised in my last post before and after photos. This way everyone can see how just a few products can really change your look.

So, here is a photo of me first thing this morning when I got out of bed.

After I snapped the photo I washed my face with Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and moved to my cosmetic counter, or as my husband would say my 7/8ths of the bathroom, and laid out the products I was going to use.

To save time and get more coverage I skipped all of my normal products and moisturizers after I wash my face and just used  Dr. Jart+ Black Label. Why? Well, because to be completely honest BB creams are essentially tinted moisturizers with SPF and a few other added benefits. This is why you can use it for anything from a tinted sunscreen to a light coverage foundation. I love multitasking products.

The next step was to slip on a quick thin coat of Tarte Clean Slate Primer. Normally my primer goes first, but I discovered from trial and error when I put this BB cream over this primer it does not end well. I'm talking streaks of color and the two products settling into every little line.

I used Revlon Colorstay Concealer for under my eyes. A lot of people think concealer takes a ton of time to apply but in reality it only takes a few seconds. It's worth the time!

To set the above products and to attain even more coverage I used Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation. It didn't take much and it blended everything together with a semi-matte finish. The best part? I had only used 6 minutes of my 10 at this point.

Eyeliner...oh the eyeliner. I have a love and hate relationship with the product. I love it, and I love the way it looks, but I HATE applying it. It's mostly due to having such sensitive skin and eyes. The moment a brush, eyeliner pencil, or anything of the sort touches my eye, it twitches. Just ask Ashleigh, it's why she hates doing my makeup.

To keep it simple, gentle for my skin, and add a pop of color I used Inika Organic Eyeliner in Green Lagoon. Not only is this eyeliner organic and gentle on my skin, but it comes with two lids. One of the lids has a sharpener built into it. Add to that a creamy smooth application that stays put...I use this eyeliner a lot.

A quick lash curl and application of Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4 -1 Mascara and my eyes were done.

To brighten my face up a little I used Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush on the apples of my cheeks and blended it in with an angled blush brush.

I finished the look off with my trustworthy Honest Company Lip Balm and Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick.

Look a little different? Normally I would do something with my brows or choose bolder colors but this was for a laid back day with my Mom so I kept it tame.

Want another 10 minute face? How to apply a full face of foundation quickly? Let me know what you want to see in the comments and it just might end up as the next Frantic Friday.

Till my next post!
~Amanda
