Frantic Friday - The Ballerina

Hey everyone! I would like to welcome you all to...

This is the day of the week where I will walk you through how I get ready for various events in 20 minutes or less. We all have days where time is short but we need to look our best. I hope that some of the tips and tricks I share with you each week will help you speed up and possibly even simplify your routine.

This Week - The Ballerina

Today is a busy day for me. I have two pointe shoe fittings at various stores in the area, as well as other errands I need to complete before Saturday. As a ballet teacher I can not afford to look sloppy! It doesn't matter how exhausted I am from teaching the day before, or how sore I am from cross training. I have to put my best foot...err face forward.

My first appointment is 1.5 hours away at 10 o'clock. That means I have to leave the house by 8:15. I was out late teaching last night so my alarm was set for 7. By the time I dragged got myself out of bed, took a shower, got dressed, and got coffee made the clock told me it was 7:58!

Time Remaining - 17 minutes

Step 1 - Cleanse, tone, and moisturize!
I never skip this, no matter how little time I have. A clean and properly moisturized face is not something to skimp on....ever.

I do this once or twice daily, so it doesn't take me long. The toner is in a spray bottle and takes less than 10 seconds to apply. The moisturizer also acts as a primer so it saves me additional time.

Time Remaining - 13 minutes

Step 2 - Face
This is where I save the most time, and it's all thanks to one product. BB cream! At first when these started coming out I rolled my eyes and said there was no way they would be worth it. After I tried them I found out how wrong I was. To make it last and have a better finish I lightly apply a finishing powder over it, just like I would if it was a foundation.

Time Remaining - 10 minutes

Step 3 - Eyes and Cheeks
I admit, this is where I cheat...BIG time. I don't want to have to think about what shades of eyeshadow I'm going to have to put where and what color(s) I should go with. It takes up far too much time. Thanks to Stila providing look books with their palettes I can just open up to a page, apply, and be done.

Eyeshadow and Blush - Stila Masterpiece Series

I picked Vol. II the impressionist and used look #1 from the masterpiece series look book. It stands out on it's own without eyeliner and I am a sloth when it comes to applying eyeliner.

Time Remaining - 2 minutes

Step 4 - Lips

This is the easiest, fastest, and most fun of all the steps. It balances the look and keeps things looking polished. The key here is to find a lipstick or other lip product that needs nothing else with it. That way you can just apply and go. Of course blotting may be necessary :)

Lipstick - Maybelline Color Sensational in Pink Quartz

Time Remaining - 1 minute 30 seconds!

I had just enough time to refill my coffee cup and walk out the door. Both of my fittings went well and we are working on formulating a special order so that my shoes will be a worry of the past.

Stay tuned for next week!

Ashleigh has had a change at work so top two Tuesday was delayed. Be sure to keep your eyes open for it. I promise she'll be back soon.
