Welcome to...
Birchbox November 2014 Edition!
Birchbox partnered with RED this month to raise awareness for AIDS. If you got a box this month please #shaRED on Twitter or Instagram with a photo of your box. Each tag donates $1 to RED.
Onto the samples!
1. Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive | $39
I wanted to love this, I really did. I love Juice Beauty's products, especially their lip gloss, but this just didn't work for me. Even though it was the sensitive version it was too much for my skin. I left it on for about 4 minutes of the 10. I think I need to accept the fact that I can't tolerate peels of any kind, no matter how natural or sensitive.
2. theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer | $24
I love theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer so I was excited to get this in my box. Cindy is just as wonderful as Mary, but the shade (peachy pink) clashes with my warm skintone for use as a highlight. I'll keep it to use as an eyeshadow with other shades, but I will not be getting the full size.
3. Eslor Firming Collagen Day Cream | $85
I traded this product to my Mom, who in return gave me her sample of Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser. She is enjoying it enough that she's ignoring the price tag to buy the full size. Hearing that from my Mom is a 5 star review. She *never* splurges on beauty products. Not for herself, not for gifts, nothing.
4. Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Wash | $15
The smell of this product is DIVINE! It doesn't lather as well as I'd like, but the smell alone is enough to make me use my entire sample. I didn't notice it do anything special for my skin, but it didn't dry my skin out either so that's a plus.
5. Harvey Prince Petaly Noir | $55
Oh Harvey you've done it again! The perfume from this brand never gives me a headache, regardless of which scent it is. That makes it top notch on it's own. Out of all their scents though, this one is my favorite. It's a woody floral scent, without being too heavy like some woody scents can be. It has just enough patchouli in it to enhance every other fragrance in it, without overpowering it. At a moderate price point for a perfume, this will be coming home to me when my sample is gone.
6. Chuao ChocoPod | $9.95 for 8
This was a bonus item this month. My Mom got the Dang coconut chips in her box, which I loved. I was unsure about trying this. I got the orange one in my box last year, and did not like it at all. This one though, I loved. I got Firecracker, which has pop rock like candy in it. If you know me, you know I eat healthy, but I'm a SUCKER for pop rocks. Add into that dark chocolate, and after one tiny bite I proceeded to put the rest of it in my mouth. Very lady like ; )
That's it for my Birchbox this month!
Keep your eyes open this week for a TON of posts from me. Ashleigh is away for the week for the holiday and I'm taking over the Blog and our Instagram and Twitter accounts.
