Hey Everybody!
Skin Care Favorites:
Sephora Collection Supreme Cleansing Oil - $15 at Sephora
I had never tried a cleansing oil before but sometimes I have such a hard time removing my makeup that I figured it was worth a chance and I am not sorry I did! This product removes almost all my makeup, I just have to go in with a little extra eye makeup remover and it's done! You start with your dry face and rub the oil all over it and the makeup starts to melt. Then you get your hands wet and rub the oil and it turns into a lotion and gets the more stubborn product off then just wipes away! The way I like to think of it the oil kind of makes the makeup back into a liquid state and makes it easier to take off, if that makes sense.
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser - Starter Kit is 24.50 at Birchbox or Lizearle.com
I got this product in my October Birchbox and I am IN LOVE WITH IT! It makes my skin feel amazingly soft and clean. I will definitely be purchasing the full size and will probably get the full kit with toner & moisturizer!
Makeup Favorites:
Laura Gellar Blush-n-Brighten Tropic Hues - $27.50 at LauraGeller.com
I got this product when it was on Hautelook a little while ago and it's now one of my favorite blushes ever. It's just the right shade for my skin tone; it has the perfect mixture of peach, coral and pink. It's got a sheen to it so I don't even need a highlighter when I wear it. It just makes me look healthy and gives me a natural glow. Definitely my go to blush right now.
(Swatched as they are found in packaging. Swatched without primer)
Benefit World Famous Neutrals Most Glamorous Nudes Ever - $30 at Sephora
At first I didn't really care for this kit but when I was on vacation I wanted to take more easy going colors with me and I found this was perfect for that. Since then I use it whenever I want a pretty but simple eye look. The only thing is that I ABSOLUTELY have to wear a primer under these.
(Left to right: Madeira, Quince, Cranberry and Rhubarb)
Bite Beauty Best Bite Set - $25 at Sephora
This set contains four mini Bite High Pigment Pencils. The regular size sells for $24 so how could I pass up four minis for only a dollar more than the regular size! (Hint: I couldn't!) The colors are perfect for fall & I plan to keep this little tin in my purse 24/7 so I can always have these beautiful pencils with me!
NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder (Translucent Crystal) - $34 at Sephora or narscosmetics.com
I purchased this product after Melissa Raymond (Melmphs on Youtube) raved about it. Per her advice I use a fluffy powder brush and sweep the powder over the skin, not buff, and the pores just disappear! I've used a lot of setting powders and none have worked as well as this!
Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Hedge Fund - $10 from Birchbox
Another Birchbox item, my subscription really is worth it! I always get compliments when I wear this color. It's the perfect shade of green. Not too bright, not too yellow, just perfect!
Hair Favorite:
Nume Classic Curling Wand 32mm - Regularly $225, currently on sale for $169 at numeproducts.com
I've been wanting to try one of the Nume wands for the longest time and when I found a massive coupon code from a youtuber (70% off!), I just had to get one. I don't have a curling iron of any kind that is this size, so that's why I choose the 32mm. Usually I don't like curling wands because they just don't curl my hair but this one did! I got the perfect wavy curls from this! These can be pretty expensive so look around for coupon codes (search on youtube for nume tutorials and look in the description boxes to see if nume has given them a coupon code for their viewers or use Retailmenot.com) or wait for them to popup on Hautelook to get the best deals!
October Fails:
Keep in mind that what might be a fail for me might be your favorite product and vice verse!
Bedhead Small Talk 3/4 Inch Styling Wand
This is a great example of why I haven't liked curling wands. Maybe it just doesn't get hot enough for my thick hair but this does nothing! My Nume wand is 32mm (1.25 inches) and it gives a tighter curl than this 3/4 inch!
Goody Quickstyle Brush
So this brush has little cloth "bristles" to help dry your hair faster, like a Turbie Twist in a brush! NOT! Notice in the picture how the cloth bristles are sticking up so your hair can slide in between them? Well the first time you run the brush through your hair those go completely flat and are useless! BLEGH! I just hate this brush. The plastic bristles hurt my hair and it's just not worth it!
Thanks so much for reading out blog! See ya next time!
